We believe that we are living in a world of three dimensions. We can move up-down, right-left or forward-backward. That is the three dimensions we are interacting with. According to the scientists, we can perceive no other dimensions except these. Einstein brough up the idea of having a fourth dimension called “time.” Then, someone suggested another imaginary dimension, totalling the numbers of dimension to 5. The numbers kept growing and growing untill string theory came up and proved that there are actually 10 dimensions along with time. Three of which we can perceive and the rest are imaginary. But, strings theory fails when we try to go backword of time and reach the very beginning moment of big bang because Earth gets vanished, stars and galaxies as well as the laws of physics at that very moment of big bang. Another theory called ‘super gravity” brings the idea of having 11 dimensions. The 11th dimension which is supposes to be the world of sound, or the universe of waves. It could be world of energy where protons are unstable and atoms dissolves, so life can not exist. When we see the size of the universe and the things inside it, we see nothing but a term of mathematics “Infinite”.Let’s use a simple story somebody told me someday to understand the possible numbers of dimensions in this universe. A person had been asked to tell how much water is there in an ocean. The guy answered smartly that if the size of the ocean were like a glass then there is one glass of water in the ocean. Let us use the same understaning here that, inside an infinite world there should be infinite numbers of dimensions, Not 3, neither 10 nor 11.
